Welcome to ResusPro!
I’m Rod Mackenzie, Founder of ResusPro and a passionate advocate for resuscitation training and medical education. Over the past 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from outstanding resuscitation professionals and leading high-quality training programmes.
I founded ResusPro to bring together these experiences and create an environment where great teachers can help emergency physicians refine their skills in resuscitation room care. I hope you enjoy what our team has to offer and that your experience with ResusPro helps you build confidence and skills that make a real difference in resuscitation room care.
About ResusPro
We are a team of dedicated resuscitation professionals, united by our passion for Emergency Medicine and our commitment to delivering world-class training. We believe exceptional training experiences are built on three essential pillars:
- Courtesy, Professionalism, and Respect (CPR!)—We create safe, inclusive spaces for learning and growth: 'Professional training for professional people'.
- Deep Subject Matter Expertise and Experience—Our inspirational faculty embodies the philosophy: 'Those teach best who most need to know.'
- Experiential Learning—Practical, hands-on opportunities to learn by doing: 'We remember best what we experience firsthand.'
Time in the resuscitation room is invaluable yet often limited during Emergency Medicine training. The relative rarity of critical illness and injury among the high volume of less severe Emergency Department presentations makes such exposure even harder to come by. ResusPro was designed to bridge this critical gap in exposure, offering a transformative educational experience.
Our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation of resuscitation professionals, equipping them with the confidence, expertise, and resilience to excel in the most demanding clinical environments.

Affordable, one-day, immersive scenario-based training to empower resuscitation professionals with confidence and expertise.
Trauma+ provides delegates with the opportunity practice a calm, structured approach to the practical application of damage control resuscitation strategies for major trauma patients of any age. Through six full-immersion simulated scenarios, delegates will experience the intensity of real-world trauma resuscitation, tackling complex cases in a realistic resus room environment. Supported by experienced consultants and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, procedural skills, and team-based trauma management.
Thoracotomy+ is a one-day, high-fidelity simulation course focused on the team-based approach to resuscitative thoracotomy in the emergency department. Delivered in partnership with the Cambridge Major Trauma Centre and Cardiac Advanced Resuscitation Education (CALS), the course equips multi-disciplinary ED teams with the confidence and technical skills to proceed with resuscitative thoracotomy in cases of immediately life-threatening penetrating chest trauma. Participants will refine procedural techniques, enhance decision-making under pressure, and practice post-procedure management in immersive scenario-based training.
Resus+ covers a busy day in the Resus Room and the spectrum of life-threatening presentations. It is a full-immersion, scenario-based course focused on the immediate assessment and management of acute presentations. Through six high-fidelity simulated scenarios, delegates will navigate cardio-respiratory and metabolic presentations, cardiac arrest and post resuscitation care, sepsis and blunt trauma cases encountered in clinical practice. Supported by experienced consultant emergency physicians and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, team-based resuscitation, and key procedural skills in the management of critically unwell patients.
(In development) Code Black+ is an advanced, one-day scenario-based resuscitation course focused on the management of time-critical neurological emergencies, spanning both traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries and acute medical neurological crises. Through six full-immersion simulated scenarios, delegates will experience the intensity of neurocritical care, managing severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord trauma, subarachnoid haemorrhage, malignant stroke syndromes, and other life-threatening neurological conditions in a high-pressure environment. Supported by experienced consultant emergency physicians and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, neuroprotective strategies, and critical interventions for neurological emergencies in the resuscitation room.
(In development) Code Red is an advanced, one-day scenario-based resuscitation course focused on the recognition of shock and the management of major haemorrhage. Through six full-immersion simulated scenarios, delegates will experience the intensity and challenges of major haemorrhage resuscitation, tackling complex cases of compressible, non-compressible, and junctional haemorrhage. Supported by experienced consultant emergency physicians and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, procedural skills, and haemostatic resuscitation strategies.
(In development) HALO+ is a one-day course dedicated to the mastery of High Acuity, Low Occurrence (HALO) procedures — rare but critical interventions that every Emergency Physician must be prepared to perform. The course blends expert-led procedural skills training and immersive simulation. The HALO procedures cover establishing a definitive airway in "can’t intubate, can’t oxygenate” scenarios (Surgical Cricothyroidotomy (FONA)), vision-saving decompression for orbital compartment syndrome (Lateral Cantholysis), central, intraosseous, and arterial line placement in the unstable patient, emergency drainage of pericardial tamponade (pericardiocentesis and resusitative thoracotomy), life-saving delivery in maternal cardiac arrest (Resuscitative Hysterotomy).
Medic+ is a one-day, full-immersion, scenario-based training course focused on the immediate assessment and management of acute medical emergencies in the resuscitation room. Through six high-fidelity simulated scenarios, delegates will navigate the spectrum of acute respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurological, and metabolic crises encountered in clinical practice. Supported by experienced consultant emergency physicians and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, team-based resuscitation, and key procedural skills in the management of critically unwell medical patients.
(In development) Paeds+ is an advanced, one-day scenario-based resuscitation course designed to enhance confidence and expertise in the reception and management of critically ill and injured children. Through six full-immersion simulated scenarios, delegates will tackle the unique challenges of paediatric resuscitation in the emergency department. Supported by experienced consultant paediatric emergency physicians and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, team-based resuscitation, and technical skills in high-stakes paediatric emergencies.
Pulse+ is an advanced, one-day scenario-based resuscitation course focused on optimising the management of cardiac arrest and return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in critically ill adults. Through six full-immersion simulated scenarios, delegates will experience the challenges of real-world cardiac arrest management, tackling complex cases in a high-pressure environment. Supported by experienced consultant emergency physicians and emergency nurses, participants will refine decision-making, procedural skills, and post-resuscitation care.

Together, they bring unparalleled practical knowledge and experience in delivering high-quality resuscitation room care, ensuring ResusPro courses are both impactful and highly relevant to clinical practice.
Delegate Reviews
Here is a sample of the delegate reviews and feedback we have received from our previous training courses.
"It was fantastic to have a chance to ask so many questions during the day, and the fact that the faculty was so varied meant there was such a wealth of knowledge to learn from. It was great to have so many different scenarios to work through, all having different take aways and the time for debrief was a really valuable experience. There was a really good balance between lectures and activities. My favourite part of the day was the focus on human factors, as often courses address the "how" to do something without acknowledging the many factors that can be barriers around it"
"The course was well run. Hands on practice was very useful. Faculty were professional”
"The course was organised well, models were very realistic. The scenarios were appropriate and brought out important learning points. Good mix of Emergency and Surgical faculty which brought an appropriate skill mix. The course was enjoyable and informative. The venue was excellent”
