FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Who are the courses aimed at? What qualifications do I need?
Most of the ResusPro courses are designed for residents, fellows, and career-grade doctors practising in the UK Emergency Department setting. Some of our courses are multi-professional and multi-disciplinary and will be of value to a wider range of healthcare professionals. Please see the individual course descriptions regarding this or get in touch with us directly!
Whichever course you choose to attend, delegates will gain the most benefit if they have already completed and hold valid certifications in what we would consider to be the relevant core life support courses (e.g., Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS)), which we see as an essential foundation to resuscitation practice.
How do the courses compare to ATLS, ALS, and APLS?
While the core life support courses (ATLS, ALS, and APLS) provide an essential framework for resuscitation practice, ResusPro courses build on this foundation. Our courses focus on immersive, scenario-based training designed to simulate real-life resuscitation room challenges. ResusPro should not be seen as an alternative but rather as an advanced complement to these essential life support courses.
Are the courses accredited or recognised for CPD?
We are actively exploring formal accreditation and recognition for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credits or points by professional colleges. However, your ResusPro attendance certificate and reflective notes can currently be recorded as 8 hours of CPD in your portfolio, in line with legitimate CPD guidelines.
What do I wear?
We recommend treating your ResusPro course day like a day in the resus room. Wear what you would normally wear during a shift, and carry what you would normally carry. Please note, some NHS employers advise staff not to wear branded clothing while travelling. While this is entirely up to you, we encourage you to follow your employer's guidance. Whatever clothing and footwear you wear, they are highly likely to be contaminated with simulated blood and body fluids - just like being at work!
Is there a discount if I decide to attend more than one course?
We realise that courses can be expensive and we try very hard to keep costs under control. It isn’t possible to offer individual discounts. If you are seeking bespoke training or planning to book several delegates (or several courses), please reach out to us to discuss. We also occasionally offer heavily discounted courses when funds are provided by the MTC, Trauma Network or other organisations so please sign up for updates and keep checking the website.
I am travelling some distance to attend. Do you recommend any accommodation nearby?
Courses are usually held in The Resus Room in Huntingdon. There is no accommodation available on site. There are however a large number of hotels and places to stay in Huntingdon which cover a range of budgets. You can find these, and more information about the area, on discoverhuntingdon.co.uk, booking.com and tripadvisor.co.uk. Please get in touch if you would like specific accommodation advice.
What time do the courses start and finish?
Course registration is from 08:30 and our Course briefing starts promptly at 09:00. If you are running late, please let us know. The last scenario finishes at 17:00 and the course closes at 17:30. Please refer to the courses page for more details.
Are there any course materials / manuals I can take away from the course?
All of the resources we refer to on the course are under the resources tab. We don’t provide a course manual and there isn’t a slide deck. Think of this as a busy day in the Resuscitation Room!
What if I need to cancel?
For cancellations, please refer to our terms of business here. If you have specific concerns or need assistance, don't hesitate to contact us directly.
What is the best way to contact you if you have a question about one of the courses?
Please e-mail us at hello@resuspro.com.
How many people are in a 'small group'?
On most of our courses, the group size is 4 or 5. For some specialist procedural based courses, we increase the numbers to meet demand. We always make sure however that every delegate has the opportunity for hands-on practical learning.
