What to Expect
AIRWAY+ is a highly practical Emergency Department airway course designed for clinicians who manage critically ill and injured patients. The course is built around eight immersive ED airway cases. Delegates work in small teams in fully equipped resuscitation bays, managing each patient from initial assessment and oxygenation through airway intervention, rescue and immediate post-airway care.
The cases cover:
- Basic and resuscitation airway management
- Bag-mask ventilation
- Physiological optimisation before intubation
- Emergency anaesthesia and RSI
- Uncomplicated and difficult intubation
- Rescue oxygenation and progression through Plans A–D
- Emergency front-of-neck airway access
- Paediatric airway management
- Post-intubation complications and deterioration
Teaching is grounded in Difficult Airway Society 2025 guidance and contemporary Emergency Medicine airway practice.
